1. Notre Dame Fighting Irish (8-0, 7-0)

One week after their victory against the Clemson Tigers, their matchup against Boston College was touted as a hangover game. These are the games that help programs turn the narrative of who they are. Brian Kelly has preached expectations all season. He has said that the Irish should expect to blow out lesser opponents, not be surprised when it happens. The same is said of games after a big win.

Though many sportswriters talked about the infamous Boston College game after the Irish defeated No. 1 Florida State in 1998, this is a different Notre Dame team. The Irish followed their victory against Clemson with a win against Boston College 45-31 and the game was not that close.

The Irish took a two-score lead into the locker room at half and never looked back.

Boston College played hard like they have all season, but the Irish held quarterback Phil Jurkovec to his lowest completion percentage and quarterback rating of the season. After rushing for 191 yards against Syracuse, the Eagles could manage just 85 yards against Notre Dame.

Kelly notched his 100th win at Notre Dame as the Irish are playing their best football at just the right time.

The Irish are off this weekend before playing North Carolina on Nov. 27.
