Oklahoma State Football: 3 bold predictions vs. Oklahoma in Week 12
By John Scimeca
1. The Cowboys win
Oklahoma State has lost five in a row and 15 of its last 17 games to its in-state rival. Many good, highly-ranked Cowboys teams have taken the field against the Sooners and have been utterly embarrassed or simply outgunned. In addition, OU enters this game as a seven-point favorite.
That can all change Saturday night.
True, OU’s offense has turned things around since opening conference play with losses to Kansas State and Iowa State. The Sooners, however, have put up back-to-back games of 62 points against two hapless Big 12 defenses in Kansas and Texas Tech. They needed four overtimes to defeat Texas and have yet to consistently get stops against a Top 25-caliber opponent in 2020.
There are plenty of future NFL players who will be wearing crimson on Saturday night. But if OSU’s ground game can get things going and open things up for sophomore quarterback Spencer Sanders, the Cowboys can snap their five-game losing skid behind their stellar defense on Saturday.
