2. Oklahoma State embarrassed in Bedlam

The game of the week was No. 14 Oklahoma State traveling to Norman to face No. 18 Oklahoma in the annual Bedlam matchup. The Cowboys were looking to get back in the hunt for the Big 12 title game after their 41-34 overtime loss to Texas on Halloween. They were also hoping to make Bedlam more balanced as they are 2-15 in the last 17 games against the Sooners.

The Cowboys, despite some serious talent, have proven they are still not ready to chase for the Big 12 title as they lost to the Sooners 41-13. Their offense was inefficient as they could not find answers to the defensive schemes of the Sooners.

Oklahoma held star running back Chuba Hubbard to only 44 yards on eight carries.

The Cowboys continue to have problems with productivity at the quarterback position. Senior Spencer Sanders threw for 97 yards, an interception and had a QBR of 19.6 on 10-of-19 attempts. Freshman Shane Illingworth threw for 71 yards, a touchdown and had a QBR of 32.4 on 5-of-21 completions

Oklahoma out-gained the Cowboys in total yards 492-246. High-profile quarterback Spencer Rattler threw for 301 yards, four touchdowns and he had a QBR of 97.2 on 17-of-24 completions. He also rushed for a touchdown.

Rhamondre Stevenson rushed for 141 yards on 26 carries.

The Cowboys were the Big 12’s only chance to get into the College Football Playoff until their loss to Texas a few weeks ago. It now appears they are not likely to make the Big 12 title game unless Texas continues to lose.
