4. Indiana Hoosiers (No. 12)

Although, the ranking for Indiana is not as outrageous, Indiana proved, that they are one of the 10 best teams in college football, based off of last week alone. Coming into Columbus as 21-point underdogs, the Hoosiers gave Ohio State all they could handle and then some.

The duo of Michael Penix Jr. and Ty Fryfogle lit up the Shaun Wade led secondary and Indiana’s defense forced Justin Fields to throw three lousy interceptions.

The initial fair review of the Hoosiers so far this year has been their lack of quality win. Their best win up to this point has been Michigan which needed overtime to beat Rutgers.

The Hoosiers severely lack running the football. Stevie Scott III has not been consistent enough and Penix is relied on heavily to make plays with his arm. So far however, Penix has proved that he can make plays and on the brightest stages.

The Hoosiers showed the country they can hang around with a team that very well is going to end up in the playoffs and are No. 3 in these rankings. Although Tom Allen’s team doesn’t win with star-power and explosiveness, they beat you with tiring you down at times and taking deep shots in the passing game, with Fryfogle and Whop Philyor.

The Hoosiers still have one game left that will determine their final ranking and chances of making a New Year’s Six bowl. They have a road game in two weeks, slated against No. 18 Wisconsin, who has been decimated with COVID-19 and have cancelled this week’s game.

Justified Ranking: No. 10
