College Football Playoff 2020: 5 biggest snubs from initial rankings
By Andrew Tineo
1. Washington Huskies (Unranked)
There is a very small sample size, which could be understandable for the playoff committee to look at and recognize whether they deserve to land on the top 25. However, if Iowa at 3-2 is ranked, then Washington has just as much of a case — if not more — as the Hawkeyes to switch places.
With their opener being cancelled, Washington is just a little over half way finished with their schedule. After an impressive win over Arizona which pushed USC to its limit a few weeks ago, the Huskies deserve some sort of placement in the playoff rankings.
The Huskies are led on offense by new starting quarterback, Dylan Morris and a three-headed monster in the backfield with Richard Newton, Sean McGrew and Kamari Pleasant (352 yards, six touchdowns).

The defense is led by the best pass rusher in the conference with Zion Tupuola-Fetui with four tackles for loss and four sacks.
The Huskies won’t have much of a season and it’s unfortunate the conference couldn’t comply, like the others and have more of an 8-9 game season. That is the way it rolls and Washington will likely end up with six games on the season. Through their first two contests of the season, they are deserving of at least a top 25 ranking.
