1. Mississippi State vs. Ole Miss

Should we talk about last season’s infamous game, or not? It probably doesn’t bear repeating, but it’s too much fun not to reiterate.

Ole Miss scored late to make the game 21-20. It would be 21-21 with the extra point, except there was an issue. Elijah Moore, arguably the best receiver in the country this season, pretended to pee like a dog following his touchdown catch. This pushed the extra point back 15 yards (for some reason that earned an excessive celebration flag), and Ole Miss missed the extra point. The Bulldogs win the Egg Bowl.

This year’s edition is in Oxford, and it should be exciting as ever.

Lane Kiffin, at this point undeniably on offensive guru, has made Ole Miss competitive on the back of their explosive offense alone. He hasn’t quit figured out the defense yet, but that should be fine because across the way is only Mike Leach. Leach, who has made his career on explosive offenses and forgettable bordering on non-existent defense.

The Egg Bowl should be close. It will be full of legitimate hate. Combine those two things, not to mention those offenses, and this is the must watch game of the week, even if their records don’t point to a great game.
