3. Brennan Eagles has been what this receiving corps has been missing

What makes Sam Ehlinger so elite is his ability to extend plays and athleticism to make his own plays with his legs. The problem throughout the season has been the fact that Ehlinger has had to willingly carry the team on his back, with not much help around him.

There have been some stand out performances like Joshua Moore and Michigan transfer Tarik Black. However on Friday, it was Brennan Eagles that might fill in as the team’s No. 1 outside target. On a team that is missing a big target like they had in Collin Johnson, Eagles fits that very well.

Eagles would finish with catches for yards and was by far, the biggest playmaker for the Longhorns on the day. After Moore has quieted down, when beginning the season with 200 receiving yards and four touchdowns in his first two games. This is good for Texas as he hopes to be a future No. 1 for the Longhorns.

For Texas, they will be be on the road to Manhattan to face a struggling Kansas State. For Iowa State, they will there regular season next week as they head back to Ames to face West Virginia.
