1. Quick takeaways for Maryland

The layoff due to COVID-19 definitely affected the Terrapins. Maryland hasn’t played in two weeks after consecutive cancellations because of outbreaks with their program. What we don’t know is how the Terrapins ran practice with players in quarantine for consecutive weeks. It was obvious on offense as they were out of sync all game long.

The defense got beat at the point of attack all game by the Indiana running attack all game long. The Terps played well most of the game, but as the offense kept giving the ball back to the Indiana offense, the defense was gassed by the third quarter.

Quick takeaways for Indiana

This was an important win for the Hoosiers. It proved they are mature enough to bounce back from a tough loss. The Hoosiers have to be concerned about quarterback Michael Penix Jr. after he left the game with an injury. Jack Tuttle played well, but Penix is the engine that drives the Hoosiers’ offense. Head coach Tom Allen has to like the way his team ran the football today as they rushed for 234 yards.

It was the defense that played at a high level for the Hoosiers. Indiana held the Terps passing game to under 50 percent completions and three interceptions. The rush defense limited the Terrapins to just 59 rushing yards.
