The quest for perfection

After the Wildcats took the 20-17 lead in the fourth quarter, Mel Tucker’s squad responded in a big way. Matt Coghlin would make back-to-back 40-plus yard kicks to give Michigan State the lead.

The defense prevented Northwestern from regaining the lead and picked up a touchdown as time expired to end the game in favor of MSU, 29-20.

With this win, Michigan State is only of only three teams to beat two teams ranked in the AP’s top 15 this season. The was a significant win as well as it is a building block of Tucker and his program moving forward.

Head hockey coach Danton Cole and his team were heading to overtime as the Spartans were unable to score the go-ahead goal in the third period. In overtime, however, his goaltender Drew DeRidder was steady, and forward Nico Muller would come up with the game-winning goal.

The win allowed Michigan State to remain undefeated as it heads into their game tomorrow against the Buckeyes once again.

Head coach Tom Izzo and his team had a commanding 39-26 lead at the half over Notre Dame. The Spartans came out very strong at the beginning of the second half and maintained that lead to a 70-50 edge with just under seven minutes remaining.

However, with substitutions and going deep into his bench, Izzo saw his team’s lead dwindle but Michigan State ended up winning 80-70 to remain undefeated on the young season. The basketball team made sure to make Nov. 28 a day to remember for all Michigan State fans as a day of perfection.

As mentioned earlier, a lot of things are on people’s minds. However, a day like what had transpired on Nov. 28 brought a ton of smiles and joy to Michigan State fans near and far. Sometimes sports offer an escape from the harsh realities of life and the Spartans were able for one day to bring happiness and excitement to Michigan State fans around the globe.
