Oklahoma State fell 29-22 against TCU in Fort Worth on Saturday. The loss dropped the Cowboys to 6-3 in the standings and put their Big 12 contention in jeopardy. Working in the Pokes’ favor is the fact that the College Football Playoff selection committee has rated Big 12 teams highly this season. When the committee deliberates to sort out their next set of rankings for Week 15, the Cowboys will still be clinging to a precarious spot on the edge of the Top 25, but they will still be in.

Dezmon Jackson ran for 118 yards and a touchdown. Jackson carried the ball 29 times, and was the only Oklahoma State running back to rush the ball on Saturday. Spencer Sanders threw for 270 yards with a touchdown and an interception on 16-of-34 passing, and he also ran for 30 yards. But the Cowboys defense proved unable to contain Max Duggan, as the TCU quarterback threw for 265 yards, ran for 104 yards, and accounted for three of the Horned Frogs’ four touchdowns.

Mike Gundy and his staff have to get the Cowboys back up to speed and to their winning ways for another road game to close out the regular season. Oklahoma State heads to Waco in Week 15 to see if they can restore a longshot bid for a New Year’s Six berth this season.
