Projected 2020 College Football Playoff Top 25 rankings for Week 15
By Zach Bigalke
Alabama eviscerated defending SEC and College Football Playoff champion LSU in Death Valley on Saturday night, toppling the Tigers in a lopsided blowout. The Crimson Tide improved to 9-0 and will remain atop the selection committee’s Top 25 when they release the next set of rankings on Tuesday. Nick Saban’s team is on pace to reclaim the conference title and the top seed in the semifinals as long as they win out.
Mac Jones completed his first dozen passes for 256 and three scores. DeVonta Smith had another huge game at receiver, racking up more than 200 receiving yards before halftime. Najee Harris rushed for a handful of touchdowns to gash the Bayou Bengals on the ground as well. Alabama’s defense rendered the Tigers offense largely impotent on its home turf as the Tide ran away with the contest in Baton Rouge.
Alabama guaranteed its spot in the SEC championship game with the win in Week 14. They can reach the title game unbeaten if they secure a Week 15 victory at Arkansas. The Crimson Tide will maintain their stranglehold on the top spot in the College Football Playoff committee’s Top 25 as long as they win out and come to the final selection with a 10-0 record and the SEC crown.
