We officially have our 2020 SEC Championship game set in stone. In two weeks, Alabama and Florida will meet in Atlanta for what should be an electric game.

As great as Alabama’s offense has been, the Gators have kept up. Florida is averaging 43.4 points per game. The Gators have scored 30+ points in each of their 9 games led by Kyle Trask who is also a Heisman candidate himself.

Kyle Pitts and Kadarius Toney will also pose matchup issues, but now is when the Alabama defense will be depended on. Patrick Surtain looks to be a first round draft pick, and he can cement himself in the top half of the draft with a great performance against NFL caliber talent.

Both passing attacks are good enough to cancel each other out, so what will be the difference? The difference will be who can run the ball more efficiently. While we still have two weeks to go, I have a hunch that Alabama will be the better team in that phase.

The Florida running backs have combined for 4 touchdowns on the year. Najee Harris had 5 touchdowns against Mississippi in September. The key to Alabama winning this game will be putting all of the pressure on Trask to keep up and letting Najee Harris carry them to the finish line.
