2. Trevor Lawrence is not perfect

Trevor Lawrence played lights out last weekend against Pittsburgh, and really all season long when he was available to suit up for Clemson. For the most part Trevor Lawrence was not his regular self Saturday night.

The future first overall pick had some throws he normally hits for big plays that just were not there tonight, especially early on in the game.

Lawrence also had an interception, and probably should have had more if the Hokies secondary did not drop a few balls thrown right to them. The turnover by Lawrence did not end up making the Tigers pay tonight. But against a better team overall it could come back to hurt Clemson in the future.

Did Lawrence still play well? Of course, because at the end of the day he still is a great player. But it goes to show you that even the great players are not perfect.

Even Trevor Lawrence’s “off night” is still a whole lot better than a good majority of college quarterbacks in the country. Lawrence threw for 195 passing yards, 1 touchdown through the air, and ran for two scores against Virginia Tech.
