Loser: BYU (Down to No. 14)

BYU had a chance to prove that they deserved to be ranked higher, but they came up a yard short in their trip to Coastal Carolina on Saturday. The offense could not protect Zach Wilson and the defense could not stop the Chanticleers run game all day. Their hopes for a New Year’s Six game are gone, but this has still been a tremendous season for the Cougars and they should feel great how they traveled cross country to face an opponent on short notice.

Loser: Marshall (Unranked)

The most stunning result on Saturday took place in Huntington, West Virginia as the 15th ranked Marshall Thundering Herd were shut out by the unranked Rice Owls. Freshman quarterback Grant Wells has had a great season, but on Saturday he threw five interceptions and could not get the offense moving. Marshall had hopes for a possible New Years six run, but those hopes are now gone.
