The Buffalo Bulls (4-0)

When the Mid-American Conference decided to play football on November 4th, the Buffalo Bulls were among the teams that were favored to win the MAC. The Bulls returned their two-headed monster of Jaret Patterson and Kevin Marks. Though the Bulls won’t be ranked in the top 25 or play for a New Year’s Six Bowl game, Buffalo has had quite the run in their abbreviated season.

The Bulls have the third-best point differential in the country behind Alabama and Buffalo. They get it done on the ground. Though Marks and Patterson were supposed to share carries, Patterson has taken the lead in the running game. Buffalo’s diminutive dynamo is the hot runner with 710 yards in his last two games.

Patterson’s last game against Kent State was a record-setting performance.  The junior set single-game MAC records for yards and touchdowns. The Bulls are so good in the running game; they’re able to take the air out of the ball late in games.

That is a skill; however, they have not needed. Buffalo has blown the doors off of every team they’ve played this season. The Bulls play Akron this week, one of the worst defensive teams in the MAC. Uh-oh.
