Ohio State football is a playoff team, Big Ten title or not

The transitive property doesn’t work in college football, but people love to compare scores and if you do that, there is no doubt that Ohio State is by far the best team in the Big Ten.

Yes, Ohio State football hasn’t gotten the chance to play Wisconsin or Northwestern and unless the Big Ten changes it rules around, the Buckeyes won’t battle the Wildcats for the conference title.

Outside of being incredibly stupid, since Ohio State already beat Indiana football, the team that would take the trip instead, it would also be a sham. It would be like if the Steelers were only able to play 13 games in the NFL and then the league excluded them for it.

Not only did Ohio State football crush Michigan State, but Indiana, the second-place team in the Big Ten East went on the road, without its starting quarterback and beat Wisconsin. That tells me the East is the better division and the Buckeyes are clearly the best team.

So let’s not be stupid. Put Ohio State in the Big Ten title game. The Buckeyes should already have their spot clinched and unless they lose in the next two weeks, there is no sound argument for keeping them out of the College Football Playoff.
