3. Defense suffocated the Yellow Jackets rushing game

Coming into this game, Georgia Tech was one of the better rushing attacks in the nation. The Yellow Jackets posted an average of slightly above 200 per contest. However, the sixth ranked rushing defense in the nation stonewalled them. Pitt on average, gives up 93 yards and gave up just 98 tonight.

No running back got over 43 yards and Jordan Mason was held to just 41 yards on 13 carries. That is an outstanding effort for a unit that was already well above average in that regard.

The pass defense was not great as they let Camp and Malachi Carter beat them on deep routes. They also did force two Georgia Tech turnovers, which on the season, is among the best in the conference.

However, that should not take away from the outstanding performances from the interior line and forcing Sims to make plays with his arm.
