Nebraska Football: 3 Takeaways from home loss to Minnesota
Adrian Martinez didn’t get it done
Inconsistency at quarterback has been one of Nebraska football’s biggest problems — for years — and it hasn’t gotten fixed under Frost.
Martinez has shown flashes this year. He had some very good moments against Iowa but fumbled the ball when the game was on the line. And after one of his best games at Nebraska last week against Purdue, Martinez was up and down again.
He didn’t throw any interceptions, but he missed a couple of touchdown passes and an overthrow at the end of the first half to a wide open Wan’Dale Robinson is one of many throws that Martinez surely wishes he could have back.
Martinez completed 16-of-27 passes but turned those attempts into just 111 yards and he really struggled pushing the ball down the field. He ran the football well and picked up 96 yards on 15 attempts and got a touchdown, but if the Huskers are going to consistently win games, they have got to find some consistency at quarterback once again.
