Nebraska Football: 3 Bold predictions for Huskers vs Rutgers
Can Nebraska pull it off?
This game may be a battle between two teams that have combined to win just five games, but it’s certainly an important game for Nebraska football and Scott Frost.
It doesn’t seem like the seat is too hot for Frost at this point, but dropping to 2-6 and losing as a 5.5 point favorite against Rutgers wouldn’t help his cause.
And every time this Nebraska program takes a step forward, it seems to find a way to take a step back. Last week, a win against Minnesota would have allowed the Huskers to have their only two-game winning streak of the season.
However, Nebraska didn’t play all that well and lost a game on its home field that was very winnable. This game is winnable too and with the bowl game up in the air, the Huskers really need a win for their psyche going into the offseason.
Rutgers will be ready to go. Its won three games but a 4-win season would a huge accomplishment and the Scarlet Knights get fired up to play name programs, which Nebraska still is, even with its recent struggles.
The key for me is the Nebraska running game, Martinez included, and Robinson. I think those two will make the difference as the Huskers win and cover on the road.
Score: Nebraska 31, Rutgers 24
