1. Yet another big game disappointment under Clay Helton

Clay Helton has been under the hot seat since he took over at USC because it seemed like USC settled for him after they moved on from Steve Sarkisian and then when he was awarded a contract extension, the pressure cranked up on Helton to deliver on the potential that is at USC.

USC football has as much potential as any program in the country and yet the Trojans deliver the most underwhelming results from one of the elite jobs in the sport.

USC looks unprepared in games like this and they are undisciplined as it comes, committing untimely penalties and looking poorly coached.

Helton is a fine coach, but USC football is expected to compete for national championships and it does not appear that the Trojans are anywhere near that level of a program under Helton and it is fair to wonder whether they will ever get there with Helton as the head coach.
