1. Alabama Crimson Tide (11-0)

It was an easy decision for the College Football Playoff Committee for the first ranking. The #1 Alabama Crimson Tide have been playing as the clear-cut number one team in the nation for many weeks. Not only have they have been getting better on both sides of the ball, but they have also been dominating their opponents along the way.

This Saturday, the Tide had one more game standing in their way of appearing in their sixth College Playoff appearance in seven years. The Tide had to take on the #7 Florida Gators in the 2020 SEC Championship Conference game. This would be the 10th meeting between the two teams in the conference championship.

The Tide started out on a serious tear in the first half as they went into halftime with a 35-17 score due to the stellar performances of quarterback Mac Jones, running back Najee Harris, and wide receiver DeVonta Smith. The Gators did find a way to make the score 35-31 early in the fourth quarter until the Tide pulled their lead back as they won a close game with a 52-46 score.

The Tide are going to be starting out in the College Football Playoffs as the No. 1 for the fourth time in playoff history.

They have never won the College Football Playoff National Championship as the number one seed. Only the LSU Tigers last season won the National Championship after starting out as a number one seed. The Crimson Tide look to be the next team to continue that tradition of winning as the top seed.
