3. Memphis Will Win This Game By Two Touchdowns

As stated earlier, the Tigers are coming into this game as a 9.5-point favorite over the Owls largely due to the dominance of Memphis’ passing offense. White has shown to a proven playmaker every game for Memphis in his three years with the program. He will be the top player to watch for in this game. In order to keep a productive offense, he must not turn the ball over as he rarely does.

It may not be surprising early in the game to see the Owls score points against a Tigers’ defense that ranks 67th in the nation in points allowed per game (29.7). The biggest problem for the Owls’ offense is to figure out which one of their offensive players will be their leader and most productive. The Owls do not have an offense that can consistently drive the ball down the field.

The Tigers’ offense has been able to accumulate 236 first downs including 124 in the passing game. What makes White a dangerous quarterback to go against is his consistency to complete passes. The Tigers have a completion percentage of 63.6% throughout the entire season. White has been able to lead a dominating passing offense due to the reliability of wide receiver Calvin Austin III, who has caught 60 receptions for 1,025 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Despite the fact that Florida Atlantic has a highly efficient defense, the Tigers are more likely to get into longer drives than the Owls will be able to find them in the red zone. This will be a game where Memphis can find the end zone more times than the experts think.
