Peyton Ramsey made more plays for Northwestern

Bo Nix did not play poorly in this game. He threw for 292 yards and a touchdown and also chipped in 32 rushing yards. However, not having Tank Bigsby hurt the Auburn offense. The Auburn defense requires a pass-run balance to be effective. The Tigers ran for only 61 yards, and Northwestern did not respect the pitch all game.

Nix threw the ball well, but he did not throw well on key downs. It did take Nix a while to get going as well. Auburn went three and out on three of their first four downs, and Nix missed a pass on fourth down on the other drive.

Ramsey was in Rhythm most of the game. The Auburn defense held most of the game, but Ramsey found ways to make plays for the Wildcats. Ramsey was able to effectively throw the football despite not having much of a run game most of the afternoon.

Ramsey had a season-high in passing yards this afternoon and tied his season-high in touchdown passes (3). The difference between the two quarterbacks were the key plays. Ramsey made key throws in key moments; Nix could not do the same.
