Takeaways for the Auburn Tigers

The Bryan Harsin era can officially begin on the Plains. Much like his freshman season, quarterback Bo Nix had his ups and downs most of the season. This game was indicative of his season. NIx made some incredible throws and had some head-scratchers.

It was obvious the issue that needs to be addressed more than any is the offensive line. It is likely –and prudent–that Kevin Steels stay at Auburn. If that is the case, the defense will be fine. What the Tigers need is a more consistent offense. Next season will be interesting at Auburn.

Takeaways for the Northwestern Wildcats

Northwestern had a great season. Wildcats head coach Pat Fitzgerald is rumored to be a target for his hometown Chicago Bears this offseason if the Bears make a change, but Fitzgerald has made no bones about loving Northwestern. The offense will return several talented skill players, including running back Cam Porter.

The Wildcats have to replace the firm of Fisher, Gallager and Brown at linebacker next season. However, next season could be one of the few times the offense outshines the defense if Porter runs as well as he did this season, and Peyton Ramsey decides to return for an additional season.
