Texas A&M Football: 3 takeaways from Orange Bowl win vs. UNC
By Shelbie Warr
Texas A&M football had the best season it could have asked for, outside of the playoff, capped with an Orange Bowl win over UNC. What did we learn?
Texas A&M football had quite the season in a year that could have easily gone wrong from the start.
A 10-game conference only schedule is never easy, but the Aggies finished it with style. They finished 9-1 including this Orange Bowl victory over UNC 41-27.
What did we learn about the Aggies from this win?
3. Texas A&M’s offensive line took over, but should they be worried?
Texas A&M’s offensive line took over the game late allowing Devon Achane — who we will discuss in a minute — to really take over as a running back. However, there is an issue looking forward to 2021. All of these guys, minus Kenyon Green who is a true sophomore, are seniors.
Do they have the incoming recruits to take care of this unit? Maybe, but those guys will be true freshmen. There are a few upperclassmen on the roster to take care of the unit and fill in the holes, but will they be as good? These are the questions that Aggie fans should be worried about.
Look for Kenyon Green to obviously be a leader on the line throughout his next two seasons — if he stays for both. However, the rest of the line is a question mark and I think that Aggie fans have reason to worry here. How do you replace a Moore Award finalist line? Hopefully, they are ready to reload here, because I’m not sure that they are.
