This isn’t a fluke

Over the last three years, Campbell and Iowa State have taken some big steps forward and leading up to 2020, the Cyclones had three straight winning seasons. They had notched wins over Oklahoma and Texas, but some didn’t take them seriously.

But after this season, that won’t happen anymore.

Going into 2021, Iowa State is a legit contender in the Big 12 and will likely be ranked near the top 10. Purdy announced he will be back and Hall will be a junior next season after rushing for 1,572 yards and 23 touchdowns. He had 25 total and could easily be a Heisman favorite early on.

On the defense, Iowa State will return a first-team all-conference defender at each level of the defense, assuming Rose returns and the offense will have a first-team OL, TE, RB, WR and QB.

Considering all that, it’s truly amazing what Campbell has done there. It feels like some NFL team or college football power will steal him away, but not before next year, so get ready Cyclone fans because as good as 2020 was — 2021 could be even better.
