Dynamic on the trail

Recruiting is the lifeblood of any college football program and Boise State is no different, which is another reason why the hire of Avalos is such an outstanding one for the Broncos.

Going back to his days as defensive coordinator with Boise State, the recruiting wins were impressive as Avalos had classes on defense that averaged nearly a 3.0 in star rating, which is a three-star recruit and that was rare for Boise State even back then.

In fact, Avalos was actually a lead recruiter for Hank Bachmeier, a four-star quarterback that is the Broncos starter right now. Avalos has recruited well in the state of California and Oregon in the past and now those connections will be even stronger after his time coaching in the Pac-12.

Former players also seem to do really well recruiting to their programs. Avalos was part of the glory years and he can sell the vision of building Boise State back into a powerhouse.
