Added pass rush

Wisconsin football is usually known for having a standout defense, as well as a dominant running game but the Badgers weren’t quite as good defensively in 2020 and only notched 11 sacks in seven games.

Outside of offensive lineman, the only other top-200 recruit the Badgers signed is four-star defensive TJ Bollers and he’s another guy who could get on the field early.

Bollers is ranked 154th in the 2021 class and is listed at 6-foot-3, 250 pounds. He’s the No. 8 weak-side defensive end and was the No. 2 player in the state of Iowa.

Like Allen, getting Bollers was a big get for the Badgers and with the program in need of some juice in the pass rush, Bollers could get on the field early as a freshman.

One thing that will help is the nature of the defensive line. Bollers won’t have to start in order to make an impact and if he can show the ability to apply pressure on the quarterback, he will likely get a shot sooner rather than later.
