Backup: Thaiu Jones-Bell

Starter: Javon Baker

Alabama has been producing some of the best talent at the wide receiver position in the country ever since Nick Saban arrived and that should continue, despite Alabama losing the Heisman trophy winner Devonta Smith and Jaylen Waddle.

John Metchie III stepped up when Waddle went down with a season ending injury last fall and he should be one of the most explosive players in the entire country in 2021. Metchie has excellent hands and speed to beat DB’s deep and he should put up big numbers as Alabama’s top receiver.

Slade Bolden was a very reliable option for Mac Jones this past season out of the slot and should see an uptick in production next season.

I am giving the nod for the third receiver spot to Javon Baker, but that will be a fierce competition this spring and fall. Alabama is set to bring in four of the top receivers in the country.
