Linebackers

Starting Jack linebacker: Nolan Smith
Backup: MJ Sherman

Starting Mike linebacker: Nakobe Dean
Backup: Channing Tindall

Starting Will linebacker: Quay Walker
Backup: Rian Davis

Starting Sam linebacker: Adam Anderson
Backup: Chazz Chambliss

This is an athletic group of linebackers that has a lot of potential heading into next season. Nakobe Dean was a semifinalist for the Butkus Award this past season and he should be one of the favorites for the award heading into next year.

The group will be missing the team’s top pass rusher Azeez Ojulari, who was a beast coming off the edge after the quarterback. Nolan Smith needs to play up to his five star talent level and I think that he could be the breakout player for the Bulldogs in 2021.

Quay Walker has been unable to live up to his talent level so far while in Athens and he is going to be pushed hard by the coaching staff to get better this offseason. Walker should start the year as the starter at WILL, but it is no guarantee that he holds that spot because MJ Sherman could be coming for that job. Adam Anderson is a steady presence off the edge and should see an uptick in production with Ojulari heading to the NFL.
