Secondary

Starting Cornerbacks: Derion Kendrick and Sheridan Jones

Backups: Mario Goodrich and Andrew Booth Jr.n
Starting Safeties: Nolan Turner and Lannden Zanders

Backups: Ray Thornton III and Joseph Charleston

This was the weakest unit on the Clemson defense last season, but with a year of experience, they should be better.

Derion Kendrick could have been top round corner in this years NFL draft, but he decided to return to Clemson for one last season.

Nolan Turner matters to the defense almost as much as linebacker James Skalski does and his leadership is something that matters a lot to the defense.

Sheridan Jones was a solid number two corner, but did not play very well vs Ohio State in the semifinal.

The secondary will need to play better and will be tested from the very start of the season against a very talented Georgia team with some outstanding talent at receiver.
