Tight End

Starter: Jeremy Ruckert

Backup: Cade Stover

Another guy that was a surprise decision to come back was tight end Jeremy Ruckert, who really showed how talented he was in the playoff games vs Clemson and Alabama.

Ohio State had not used the tight end much this season until those two games, but Ruckert showed off an impressive ability to catch the ball and he is a solid option when blocking as well.

Cade Stover should enter the season as the favorite to be the backup tight end. Like I said earlier, Ohio State only started to use their tight ends towards the end of last season and it will be hard for Stover to get any meaningful catches.

This is a big boost for the Buckeyes passing game and I would expect Ruckert to have an all Big Ten type of season.
