Linebacker

Starting Will Linebacker: Dallas Gant

Backup: Tommy Eichenburg

Starting Mike Linebacker: Teradja Mitchell

Backup: Craig Young

Starting Sam Linebacker: Cody Simon

Backup: K’Vaughan Pope

This is a position group that is going to look brand new for the Buckeyes next fall with the departure of some key guys.

Tuff Borland, Peter Warner and Baron Browning were all top flight linebackers and leaders for this program in the past couple of seasons and their leadership and intangibles will be the top things that this defense will be missing.

The Buckeyes are not without talent however and it should not be long before the new guys become household names across the country.

Teradja Mitchell should be ready to take over in the middle and he has a lot of talent. Cody Simon had not been a big contributor so far in his career, but with so many departures, Simon is going to need to step up.

Dallas Gant is the favorite to step in at the Will Linebacker spot, but he will be pushed by the other guys on the roster.
