Brutus Buckeye, an anthropomorphic nut, made his debut in 1965 for Ohio State at their homecoming game against Minnesota. It was at this time that the concept, specifically, his unique outfit and look, was solidified.
He’s so stylish that no matter who the Buckeyes face, he’s always going to stand out to distract the enemy. Whether it’s his good luck hat or the 00 on the back of his jersey, he’s ready for anything at any given moment. Best of all, he’s part of college football mascot history.
