28. Arizona State Sun Devils – Sparky the Sun Devil

Arizona State used to have an owl and bulldog as the mascot before they became the Sun Devils in 1946. Two years later Disney illustrator Bert Anthony came up with the design for Sparky, a trident wielding devil who sports a mustache similar to that of Walt Disney himself.

It’s fascinating to believe that for many years to come now Arizona State fans can say how they have the best Disney-inspired mascot in all of college football due to Sparky’s history. There isn’t much known about what gives him such evil energy but judging by fan merchandise, it all makes sense now.

The Sun Devils have a ton of merchandise that have officially dubbed him a “mischievous imp” and well, that’s all you need to know heading into game day. Whatever you do, don’t get on his bad side since Sparky always has his weapon trusty ready to attack.
