1. LSU Tigers – Mike the Tiger

The coolest tiger in all the land. The greatest college football mascot of all-time. Mike the Tiger has served as LSU’s mascot since 1936 when every LSU student donated a quarter to purchase Mike I for $750. LSU built a $3 million habitat for the Bengal tiger that’s 15,000 square feet for Mike to roam.

Yes, this was one of the finest tiger habitats with lush plant life, waterfall, a stream that empties into a wading pond, and areas for him to climb. A real-life tiger roaming between the football stadium and basketball arena is pretty intimidating.

What’s cool is LSU won’t force Mike to attend games at Tiger Stadium if he doesn’t feel up to it. His handlers will open his trailer, and if he doesn’t feel like getting in he gets to chill in his lavish habitat. If he gets in the trailer, he has LSU cheerleaders sit on the top of his trailer en route to Tiger Stadium where he’s the main attraction for home and visiting fans. Now that is beyond words amazing and one of the biggest reasons why Mike the Tiger is the best of the best.
