18. Attend Red River Rivalry at State Fair of Texas

Come see Big Tex at the State Fair of Texas in Dallas is home to some of the best and unique deep-fried eats like deep-fried Coke, Twinkies, s’mores, and Oreos. But it’s also home to a 212-foot Ferris wheel, dog and pig races, BMX bike show, puppet shows, and storytime for little kids.

But the main attraction is the rivalry game between the Texas Longhorns and Oklahoma Sooners. The Red River Rivalry or simply, the Texas-OU game, is played at the Cotton Bowl at Fair Park and is the biggest game of the year for the two longtime rivals.

The rivalry game would be enough to merit inclusion on a bucket list for college football fans but when you can ride a Ferris wheel while eating fried foods and can watch two of college football’s best programs of all-time, this is a trip you can’t afford to pass up.
