50. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 7. player. QB. Ohio State. Justin Fields

Recent reports have the Detroit Lions and Matthew Stafford coming to a mutual agreement to part ways. And since Detroit is not a hot free agent destination, and barring a big-time trade, the Lions should and will go with a quarterback with their first pick. Justin Fields proved himself worthy of being selected this early in the draft following his performance in the College Football Playoff. The Lions have been the dumpster on the NFL the past 20 years or so a player like Fields could help remove that label.

Pick Analysis. 8. player. Zach Wilson. 87. Scouting Report. QB. BYU

Before the season started, many people did not know who BYU quarterback Zach Wilson was. By mid-season, he had already caught the eyes of NFL scouts and by season’s end, had many scouts and experts having him going in the early part of the first round. While Teddy “Two Gloves” Bridgewater has the ability to be a starting quarterback in the NFL, the Panthers should look for someone to take over the keys of their offense that is young, talented, and bound to break out this upcoming season.

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. player. 45. CB. Alabama. Patrick Surtain II. 9

In a division that has Patrick Mahomes and Justin Herbert, two young quarterbacks, the Denver Broncos could also be in the market for a quarterback this offseason but have a good chance of signing one or trading for one, and with their talent and wide receiver and running back, their No. 9 overall pick should be used on bolstering up their secondary. Patrick Surtain has the prototypical size of an NFL cornerback and is patient, yet quick to react when defending the pass.
