2021 NFL Mock Draft: First-round projections pre-Super Bowl week
The Cardinals made some big moves last offseason, giving quarterback Kyler Murray one of the best receivers in the league in DeAndre Hopkins. With a dynamic duo at running back and an underrated defense, the best thing to do for Murray is to beef up his security along his offensive line. Samuel Cosmi has a wide frame and is one of the best pass protectors entering the 2021 NFL Draft.
The Raiders got off to another promising start last season but ended on the wrong side of things and were on the outside of the playoff picture. One of the things lacking on this Raiders’ team is a dominant edge rusher, who can be in the backfield by the time the quarterback completes his drop back or at the time of the handoff. Azeez Ojulari, a breakout performer in 2020 for the Georgia Bulldogs, is a freak athlete and, in my opinion, could be as dominant as Von Miller on the edge.
Ja’Marr Chase sat out the 2020 season and is still one of the top prospects entering this year’s draft. With the Dolphins using their first pick on a generational talent on defense, their next pick will be used on Chase, who prior to this past season, was the top wide receiver entering the draft. Chase will provide Tua, or whoever the Dolphins’ quarterback is, a solid WR1 who can finish in the top 5-10 in catches, yards, and touchdowns year in and year out.
