2021 Senior Bowl: 6 players who impressed on day three
Benjamin St. Juste – Cornerback (Minnesota) – National
Yesterday, there was a ton of pressure on the defensive backs of the National squad. Washington Huskies cornerback Keith Taylor was the player that played the best in the entire defensive backs unit. While Taylor played great in the third practice, it was Minnesota Golden Gophers cornerback Benjamin S.t Juste that stood out the most in the defensive backs.
Juste was a player that played well throughout the entire three practice in position drills, but it was on the last day where he excelled the most. St. Juste played tight man coverage on all of his assigned receivers in 7-on-7 drills and team periods.
He had many key pass breakups in team periods against the three talented quarterbacks of the National squad. St. Juste was a defensive back who stood the most in a day where the defensive backs were highly pressured. Expect his Draft stock to rise significantly between now and around his Pro Day at Minnesota.
Chauncey Golston – defensive tackle (Iowa) – American
There were plenty of surprising players in the 2021 Senior Bowl that needed to boost their Draft Stock as they compete with more high-caliber players. There are also players like Iowa Hawkeyes defensive tackle Chauncey Golston, who had a consistent performance against these high-players.
Golston was one of the underrated performers in the day three practice of the 2021 Senior Bowl. During team periods, he was not only able to get into the backfield consistently but he was able to account for the sacks or tackles for loss.
Golston dominated in one-on-one periods as he was able to shed off blocks due to a combination of strength and surprising athleticism. He was able to beat many of the top-tiered interior offensive linemen in team periods. He is highly explosive at the snap of the football and made immediate separation moves.
