Pick Analysis. Atlanta (GA). player. Scouting Report. Sept 4. Alabama Crimson Tide. 1. 829

In one of the more high profile games of the opening weekend, Miami will take on the defending national champions in Atlanta to start the season. This is the biggest opening game for Miami since they played LSU in Dallas back in 2018. Most Miami fans would like to forget that game and after this game, they will be wanting to be moving on quickly.

Miami will be massive underdog in this game and they are at a huge disadvantage from a talent and a coaching staff perspective. In his two years at Miami, Manny Diaz has not played well in big games and last year was blown out by Clemson and North Carolina in both games. I think that this game could be competitive early on, with Miami being the more experienced team and Alabama replacing a lot from last years championship team. The talent will takeover and Crimson Tide quarterback Bryce Young will show his immense talent in Alabama’s victory.

Final Score: Miami 27, Alabama 45 (0-1)

After their season opening game vs Alabama, Miami must come home to face one of the most successful group of five teams in the country in App State. This could be a bit of a tricky spot for Miami because a lot of energy will be spent on the Alabama game. If that game goes how I think it will, then the Hurricanes will need to bounce back quickly or they could get upset.

These two teams met back in 2016 in Boone and that was a game that Miami won very decisively. App State will come to Miami ready to play, but the Hurricanes will have a bounce back game and get in the win column for the first time in 2021.

Final Score: Miami 38, App State 13 (1-1)
