LSU Football: Way too early predictions for 2021 schedule
This will be another revenge game for LSU football. Auburn embarrassed LSU in last years meeting and that was the game that many people realized that LSU was probably not going to be a very good team in 2021.
Coming off of a win against Mississippi State, LSU will want to start October with a win over one of their biggest rivals and show that last year was just a fluke and not a sign of the direction the program is heading.
Auburn will be under new leadership for the first time since 2012, as Gus Malzhan was fired and Boise State head coach Bryan Harsin was hired to replace him. This will be Harsin’s first stint in the SEC and it will be a big step up in games from week to week.
I think Auburn’s success in 2021 will once again hinge on the development of quarterback Bo Nix. I think Nix is maxed out and just not very good which is why I think Auburn could be in for a down year in 2021.
Final Score: LSU 28, Auburn 17 (5-0, 2-0 SEC)
After their big win over Auburn, LSU will take it on the road and travel to Lexington to face an always tough Kentucky squad coached by Mark Stoops. The Wildcats are hoping some staff changes on offense can help them take the next step as a program. The defenses are always solid in Lexington and that should be no different in 2021. Stoops has built a solid program at Kentucky and with better quarterback play and offensive play as a whole, Kentucky could be a tough out this upcoming season.
I think this could be a trap game for LSU. Kentucky is a good program that will look to catch LSU sleeping after their win over Auburn. With the uncertainty at quarterback for the Wildcats, I think the Tigers will find a way to win this one of the road and keep rolling along undefeated.
Final Score: LSU 34, Kentucky 14 (6-0, 3-0 SEC)
