Another top-10 finish

At the end of the day, I have a hard time predicting Iowa State football to beat Oklahoma for the Big 12 championship, although they will have a very good chance.

I just think the Sooners are a playoff caliber team and I think they will get back to the final four next year on the strength of two wins over the Cyclones — two close wins.

But as the second-best team out of the Big 12, Iowa State will get a berth into another New Year’s Six game, possibly against someone from the SEC.

As the Cyclones showed last season, they are capable of beating the big boys since they notched wins over Texas, Oklahoma and Oregon just in 2020 alone.

In 2021, they will beat Texas, Iowa and whoever they end up playing in the New Year’s Six, which will give the Cyclones their fist-ever 11-win season and a second consecutive top-10 finish.

Iowa State has never won double-digit games in a season, so as far as 2021 is concerned, it will be another memorable campaign and another season of firsts for Matt Campbell.
