Michigan Football: Way too early predictions for 2021 schedule
After a couple of tough losses to start the month, Michigan will head to Maryland under a lot of pressure to find a win before their big game against Ohio State. Maryland showed signs of life in their program last season under Mike Locksley and new starting quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa. The offense looked really good at different times last season, but it looked like their defense could still use some work.
I think that Michigan will get a bounce back win over the Terrapins because of Maryland’s defense not being at a high enough level yet. I like the direction of the Terrapins program right now and they are recruiting at a nice level, however.
Final Score: Michigan 42, Maryland 27 (8-3, 5-3)
One of the greatest rivalries in all of sports was put off for a year because of COVID-19, but it will return this season and hopefully, it will be closer than the more recent additions of the rivalry. Ohio State has owned Michigan in recent years and the Wolverines have not won in this rivalry since 2011 and most games since then have been blowouts.
Ohio State will be replacing quarterback Justin Fields and some key members of the secondary, but return wide receiver Chris Olave and defensive tackle Haskell Garrett, who could be in for All-American seasons. Also, Ohio State just brought in the No. 2 ranked recruiting class, behind only Alabama. The Buckeyes are not going anywhere anytime soon.
I just think the talent gap between the two teams is too big right now. Michigan has too many questions on both sides of the ball and their coaching staff for me to trust them to beat a team like Ohio State. I think the Buckeyes keep rolling versus the Wolverines.
Final Score: Michigan 24, Ohio State 45 (8-4, 5-4)
