Oklahoma Football: Way too early game predictions for 2021 season
The most anticipated game on the Big 12 schedule next season will be between Oklahoma and Iowa State and it will also be one of the most anticipated games of the entire college football season.
Iowa State and Oklahoma played in two thrillers last year, once in the regular season and in their rematch in the Big 12 title game. Cyclones head coach Matt Campbell has played Oklahoma tough ever since he took the job in Aimes and he has a team that many think could be playoff-caliber in 2021.
Iowa State is bringing back one of the most experienced rosters in all of college football and has a legitimate Heisman candidate in running back Breece Hall. The defense should be the best in the conference and if quarterback Brock Purdy takes another step, the Cyclones will once again be dangerous.
I think that these teams will be facing each other twice and there is a good chance that they will split these matchups. Going undefeated is one of the hardest things to do and I think if the Sooners are going to slip up, this is the spot. Expect a great game and a rematch just weeks later.
Final Score: Oklahoma 34, Iowa State 37 (10-1, 7-1 Big 12)
After a tough loss to Iowa State, Oklahoma will need to bounce back if they want to keep their playoff hopes alive. The last team that will be standing in their way will be their big rival Oklahoma State, although by the recent record, it has not been much of a rivalry. The Cowboys got blown out by the Sooners in Norman and will be looking to keep their rival from reaching the playoff.
I think that Oklahoma will be one of the best teams in the entire country and will be laser-focused on getting back to the playoff this season. After a tough loss to Iowa State, I think the Sooners will bounce back and clinch another spot in the Big 12 championship game.
Final Score: Oklahoma 42, Oklahoma State 31 (11-1, 8-1 Big 12)
