Ohio State Football: Way too early 2021 game predictions
After a tough non-conference fight vs Oregon, Ohio State will remain at home and take on one of last year’s surprise teams, Tulsa. The Golden Hurricane rode one of the best defenses in the country to an appearance in the AAC title game before they lost to Cincinnati. It was a breakthrough season for head coach Phillip Montgomery, who was on the hot seat heading into last season.
Tulsa was a good story last year, but there is a lot to replace, including All-American linebacker Zaven Collins. Tulsa is going to be way overmatched in this game and it will get ugly pretty quickly against Ohio State.
Final Score: Ohio State 52, Tulsa 17 (3-0, 1-0 Big Ten)
For their last non-conference game, Ohio State will take on the in-state MAC team, Akron, who is projected to be one of the worst teams in the entire country. This game will be a good chance for some younger starters on defense and on the offensive line to get more reps and prepare for the bulk of their Big Ten season. This game will be the easiest on Ohio State’s schedule and should be over by halftime.
Final Score: Ohio State 63, Akron 7 (4-0, 1-0 Big Ten)
