Ohio State Football: Way too early 2021 game predictions
One of the biggest games in the entire Big Ten will be between Indiana and Ohio State in Bloomington. The Hoosiers almost pulled off a great comeback against the Buckeyes last season in Columbus and Indiana is returning most of their top players including quarterback Michael Penix Jr and wide receiver Ty Fryfogle.
The defense should remain a tough unit under head coach Tom Allen and Indiana will be more motivated than ever to beat Ohio State.
I think that Indiana might be the second-best team in the Big Ten East and possibly the Big Ten. If they can become more efficient on offense instead of relying only on big plays, they could be a tough team to beat. This will be a trendy upset pick in the preseason, but I just do not think the Hoosiers can get it done against a talented team like Ohio State. Buckeyes win a close one.
Final Score: Ohio State 38, Indiana 31 (7-0, 4-0 Big Ten)
In what has been the premier game in the Big Ten the lasts few years, Penn State will be hoping to bounce back from a tough 2020 season that did end on a winning streak for the Nittany Lions. Penn State started out rough but really started to form an identity towards the end of the season.
Penn State is bringing in former Ohio State and Texas offensive coordinator Mike Yurich to run an offense that has been unable to get a passing game going recently. The development of the quarterback position could be the difference between Penn State being just good or contending for another Big Ten title.
I think that Penn State is due for a bounce-back season and will be better in 2021, but with Sean Clifford at quarterback still, I think that this team has a ceiling and I don’t think it will be able to go to Columbus and beat Ohio State.
Final Score: Ohio State 35, Penn State 27 (8-0, 5-0 Big Ten)
