2. Detroit Lions (No. 7)

This destination might be a little less likely now that the Lions have signed Tyrell Williams in free agency and may not be looking for a receiver unless Kenny Golladay doesn’t re-sign.

But it would still be one heck of a landing spot for a young receiver.

Detroit is usually where stars’ careers go to die, but if you’ve looked at the Lions over the years, young receivers actually have had plenty of success. Golladay is just the latest to star at wide out after being drafted by the Lions, but Titus Young and Calvin Johnson are other examples.

The Lions will be fielding a new quarterback this season in Jared Goff after trading Matthew Stafford to the Rams and that might actually present some challenges for DeVonta Smith if he lands here, but it’s not like the new gunslinger is incapable of being a top-tier passer. Goff has shown signs of being a star in this league and Detroit might be a good spot for him, too.

For Goff to have success, he’ll need some talented targets to throw the ball to and Golladay, Smith and Williams would be a heck of a trio.
