USC Football: Way too early 2021 game predictions
One of the best rivalries in the country will be able to resume in 2021 and that will be great for college football. USC and Notre Dame is one of the most anticipated games of the season each year and this should be another good one. Notre Dame is coming off of a playoff appearance in 2020 and will be looking to reload and be back in the conversation. Notre Dame does not return a lot of big-time players from last year’s team, including quarterback Ian Book and linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah. Notre Dame hopes that new defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman can carry on the momentum from last season.
I think that Notre Dame will remain a solid team, but teams with a lot of firepower could give them trouble. I don’t think that they will have the necessary firepower on offense to be in many shootouts and I think that USC could be a bad matchup for the Fighting Irish. USC will snap their losing streak to Notre Dame in 2021.
Final Score: USC 38, Notre Dame 35 (6-1, 4-1 Pac 12)
After a great win vs Notre Dame, USC will head back to the Coliseum to take on Arizona, who might be the worst team in the Pac 12 South and maybe the Pac 12 in 2021. The Wildcats are undergoing a coaching change, with Kevin Sumlin being dismissed after a bad run in Tucson and now the Wildcats are turning to Jedd Fisch to lead the program.
Fisch has extensive experience in college and the NFL and while there were many that panned the hire, I think that Fisch was a solid hire. He has experience working in the working the Pac 12 and has led some good offense at both levels.
While Fisch might work out in the future, I think Arizona is going to be pretty bad this year. Their defense should really bad and I don’t think they have much talent on offense. USC wins big here,
Final Score: USC 49, Arizona 10 (7-1, 5-1 Pac 12)
