USC Football: Way too early 2021 game predictions
USC will start off November with a very tough road game vs the main challenger in the Pac 12 South, Arizona State. The Sun Devils gave USC all they could handle in the Coliseum last fall and honestly should have won the game.
Kedon Slovis was great in the fourth quarter and Bru McCoy and Drake London caught some clutch touchdowns. This will be a battle between two of the best quarterbacks in the country, with USC’s Kedon Slovis and Arizona State’s Jayden Daniels.
I think this will be a great game and one that could decide the Pac 12 South. Like I said when talking about the matchup vs Utah, Arizona State has appeared to be more well-coached than the Trojans since they hired Herm Edwards. Arizona State is a physical team and should have beaten the Trojans in Los Angeles last season. My gut tells me they get the job done in Tempe.
Final Score: USC 24, Arizona State 28 (7-2, 5-2 Pac 12)
After a tough loss to Arizona State, USC will need to remain engaged as they head on the road to play one of their big rivalries, Cal. The Golden Bears were a trendy pick to contend in the Pac 12 last season, but they had some bad luck with players being out due to COVID and they could not find a rhythm for most of the season. I think this could be another season where they could surprise because the expectations have been lowered a bit heading into this season.
Cal head coach Justin Wilcox has done a really good job at Cal and they are always a tough out. However, I think that USC will have too much offense for the Golden Bears to beat the Trojans.
Final Score: USC 35, Cal 14 (8-2, 6-2 Pac 12)
